"Once upon a time in Bourg": discover or rediscover the history of Bourg en Bresse, by night, in period costumes. July 18 and 25, 2025, August 22 and 29, 2025.
Some twenty professional and amateur actors take you on a joyful, musical and good-natured stroll from the Neolithic to the 21st century, discovering the adventures, half-timbered houses, characters and anecdotes that have shaped the town. From the weavers and drapers of the Middle Ages, to the 1250 charter of franchise, the justice system in the town clerk's office, the history of Notre-Dame, the great families of the 18th century, the Revolution, the Breakthrough, the Resistance, and also Jérôme Lalande, Mandrin, Xavier Bichat, Gustave Doré, Jules Migonney, not forgetting Marguerite d'Autriche and Philibert le Beau.
You won't regret spending a long summer's evening here, ending with a glass of friendship.
