Golf de la Sorelle A unique place steeped in history with irresistible charm

Just 40 minutes from Lyon, a little jewel of nature between Bugey and Dombes, the Golf de la Sorelle offers a beautiful course in a green setting, a stroll in the spirit of Scottish golf.

A dream setting

Golf de la Sorelle offers a course that hugs the undulating landscape. Among the multi-century-old trees, ponds and streams, you’ll find a number of historical curiosities, including a Gallic fountain, the remains of an ancient motte castrale (poype) and, on hole 10, a superb view of Château de Richemont, Villette-sur-Ain’s 13th-century fortified castle.

And let’s not forget the magnificent 15th-century mansion that houses the Golf de la Sorelle Resort. The atmosphere here is one of history and charm, irresistibly reminiscent of Scottish golf.

A calm and serene place, in a magnificent setting and a superb golf course. A great golfing experience.

Playing with the slope

The 18-hole course is varied and technical, with plenty of room for natural obstacles. There are trees, streams and mounds to contend with: nothing can be taken for granted, and you have to constantly adapt your game to the surprises in store for you on this beautiful golf course.

However, the course remains accessible to all levels. Good ball placement is more effective than knowing how to manage long distances.

We particularly appreciate the tranquility of the setting, which encourages you to take your time when negotiating the sloping greens…

GOOD TO KNOW

A little history!

The Resort du Golf de la Sorelle has taken up residence in the former home of the Lords of Gravagneux, heirs to the noble Italian Gravagnosi family who made it their home 600 years ago.

This attractive 15th-century building retains the memory of its history, and each of the 12 rooms makes reference to the history and geography of the area. It’s because of this rich past, linked to the region’s strategic position, that there are numerous remains, some of which can still be seen on the golf course.
