A lovely, well-maintained golf course whose flat layout is not so easy to master even for good golfers.

More technical than it seems

The 18-hole course at Golf du Domaine de Gonville has a fairly flat layout, making it a perfect playground for beginners. But don’t be fooled, it’s a highly technical course that will give experienced golfers a run for their money.

It offers a wide variety of shots that require more precision than distance. Between trees and water, you’ll need to pay close attention to the modestly-sized greens, which are full of traps and surprises. Can you manage the Par 5 of the course’s most difficult hole by outwitting the water hazards?

This course is ideal for golfing with family or friends, who will all enjoy playing at their own level, while taking in the beauty of the Alps and Jura mountains.

GOOD TO KNOW

A golf course run by an association

Created in 1989 near the village of Saint-Jean de Gonville, the Domaine de Gonville golf course had just 9 holes. The mobilization of its members enabled the creation of an additional 9 holes in 1992.

In 1993, a much-needed clubhouse was added, followed by a driving range in 1994.

In 2003, the practice area was created with the aim of improving the approach and exit from the bunkers. Holes 11, 12 and 13 were redesigned in 2010, the year of Gonville’s upgrade to Par 67 and its new FFG approval.

It now has 4 teams and 3 sections: Ladies, Seniors and Juniors (6 to 18 years).
