The selection of 6 walks and hikes will appeal to both history buffs and walkers in search of great panoramas. Between plains and mountains, these itineraries are accessible to the widest possible audience, depending on the level of difficulty and length of the route.

Château des Allymes 7.9 km - 3h

Climbing up to the Château des Allymes is like walking through history. The view gradually opens up, the silence settles in, and then the castle appears, majestic. The walk continues through the woods for a perfect rejuvenating effect!

The mystery of Saracen chimneys 9.6 km - 2h

This unusual hike takes you to discover the mysterious Saracen chimneys, the mitre-shaped roofs typical of the Bresse region.

The Maquis Trail 18.3 km - 5h

On the Plateau de Retord, the Sentier du Maquis is more than just a hike: it’s a journey down memory lane. The trail pays tribute to the resistance fighters who took refuge in these forests during the Second World War. Between clearings and undergrowth, panels retrace their history, reminding us that these peaceful landscapes were the scene of battles for freedom.

From Fort l'Écluse to the banks of the Rhône 12 km - 5h

From the banks of the Rhône, the trail climbs to Fort l’Écluse, an impressive military fortress clinging to the mountainside. The climb, punctuated by the murmur of the river, gradually reveals a breathtaking view of the valley and the Rhône winding below…

From Minimes to Paradise 12.1 km - 3h20

La Dolce vita on the banks of the Saône, in its walking version! From the Minimes site, the path winds its way to a place called Paradis, where the view opens out onto the tranquil meanders of the river. A soothing stroll, ideal for strolling along the water’s edge and enjoying the calm of the banks.

The Plantay tower 6.5 km - 1h40

In the region of a thousand ponds, the route takes you to the Tour du Plantay, the remains of a medieval castle destroyed in 1460 by the Duke of Bourbon’s troops. As an added bonus, on a clear day, the view extends as far as Bugey and Mont Blanc… A peaceful stroll!
