In eastern Ain, from Nantua to the high Jura chain, you’re entering France’s 3rd largest mountain biking area! At an average altitude of 1,000 m, this wilderness area offers some of the finest panoramic views in the Ain.

The FFC Ain-Forestière area is tailor-made for lovers of beautiful nature and contemplative hiking, who are not afraid of effort. The kilometers are effortless, punctuated by superb viewpoints revealing sparkling lakes, wild rivers, coniferous forests… and the Alps and Mont-Blanc on the horizon.

It’s an area that’s accessible to all abilities, but still quite sporty due to the mountainous terrain. The scenery is superb, especially when you reach the top: the panoramas are breathtaking.

Between Oyonnax and Nantua to the west, Gex to the north and Bugey to the south, this golden triangle of mountain biking in the Ain offers pedaling from combe to combe on its verdant plateaus, all the way to the mythical Grand Colombier (1501m) in the south.
