Family mountain biking in the Ain

Ride with the whole family, without time or stress. Gentle trails, calf-boosting climbs and fresh-air breaks. Mountain biking in the Ain region is made up of courses with the VTT-FFCT label and 3 areas with a distinct identity, 2 of which are perfect for families. Discover the Montrevel-en-Bresse base La Plaine Tonique and Espace Revermont!

To each his own, all together

Flat trails for those just starting out, longer paths for those who want to climb a little: in the Ain, mountain biking is a family activity that can be enjoyed at your own pace. Between bocage, forest and heritage, the routes wind their way through gentle countryside, punctuated by beautiful panoramas perfect for a gourmet break, swimming spots and flower-filled plateaus in spring. Accessible from Lyon, Bourg-en-Bresse or Mâcon, it’s the perfect spot for a day outing… or to embark on a more challenging itinerary, with a smile.

MTB-FFCT bases La Plaine Tonique and Espace Revermont For moments big and small

At La Plaine Tonique, you can get on your bike just a stone’s throw from the lake, and hit the trails without looking at the clock. Flat terrain, rolling paths, just what you need to get back in the saddle and enjoy, kids in front, parents behind, or vice versa. At La Grange du Pin, the scenery changes: forest, quiet single track, and a mini bike park with obstacle zones to (gently) scare yourself. Between the two bases, 16 marked routes, 412 km of trails and the same desire: to ride for pleasure, share moments of complicity, and finish the day with tired legs but a light heart.

Thanks to its ponds, mountain lakes and (magnificent) rivers… Already renowned for its vast natural spaces, the Ain also stands out for the quality of its environment. Five of France’s thirty rivers with the “Rivières Sauvages®” label are in the Ain, and 3 sites have been awarded the RAMSAR label for their international importance as wetlands.

The VTT-FFCT Ain Forestière area For sporty types

In the mood for a more invigorating adventure? Welcome to the Espace VTT-FFC Ain Forestière, an immense playground: 1,500 kilometers of marked trails, 100 routes, some of which are accessible to all members of the tribe. Here, you don’t need to be a champion to have fun, just have a good grip on the pedals. The result is stunning scenery and a sense of escape less than an hour from Lyon or Geneva.
