The Voie Bleue: along the Saône river

From Mâcon to Lyon, the Voie Bleue winds a peaceful route along the Saône. You’ll pass through Pont-de-Vaux and its marina, and stop at the Château de Fléchères, a reminder of a bygone era. In Trévoux, history is told through the narrow streets, before stopping off in Ars, under the gaze of the basilica. And then there are the guinguettes on the banks of the Saône, where time slows down and laughter floats in the air.

La Voie Bleue Moselle-Saône by bike

The Voie Bleue – Moselle-Saône à vélo (Blue Route – Moselle-Saône by bike) runs for 700 km between Apach, on the Luxembourg border, and Lyon. Cycling along the Moselle and Saône rivers, the route passes through a variety of landscapes: the vineyards of Lorraine, the rolling hills of Burgundy and the green plains of the Saône Valley. The roads are mostly flat and safe, perfect for a family outing or a sporty getaway. Arrival in Lyon marks the end of a journey rich in discoveries, heritage, nature and gastronomy.

A gentle interlude between heritage, nature and gourmet pleasures. Stop off at Pont-de-Vaux for a break at the marina, admire the 17th-century Château de Fléchères, before strolling through the streets of Trévoux or taking a gourmet break in a guinguette on the banks of the Saône.
