Coming by car

The Ain is particularly well served by road. Based on an arrival in Bourg-en-Bresse, the capital of Bresse, here are your itineraries:

  • Paris: A6 freeway (424 km)
  • Lyon: A6 and A42 (60 km)
  • Mâcon: A40 (approx. 40 km)
  • Geneva: A40 (111 km)
  • Dijon: A39 (1h45)

Prefer the train Practical, safe and environmentally friendly

  • Lyon: 40 minutes to 1h05 for Bourg-en-Bresse by TER. Numerous stations are served on the line.
  • Geneva: 1h30 by TGV to Bourg-en-Bresse, 25 to 30 minutes to Bellegarde-sur-Valserine, 58 minutes to Culoz.
  • Paris: 1h55 to Bourg-en-Bresse, 2h40 to Bellegarde, by TGV. From Paris, connections to Brussels (+ 1h30), London (+ 2h)

Getting around Ain
