Created in 2006 by the Cultures & Cinémas association, the F5C is a cross-border French-Genevan festival.
The 5 Continents Film Festival is:
A 10-day festival.
20 international guests to meet in the cinemas.
6 screening venues: Ferney-Voltaire, Gex, Bio Carouge, Divonne-les-Bains, Valserhône and Versoix.
1 Village du Monde (Ferney-Voltaire), a warm and friendly place to hang out.
On site:
--> 15 headsets to discover films in virtual reality, free access. (Ages 10 and up)
--> 2 photo exhibitions, free access.
--> Dishes from the 5 continents every evening at the Village du Monde in Ferney-Voltaire.
1 masterclass on music in cinema.
3 exclusive film conferences.
40 films from 5 continents, in their original language with subtitles.
50 special screenings.
At least 2 screenings per day. The Festival takes place in several locations at the same time.
2 non-stop weekends starting at 10 a.m.! Every Sunday, the Village du Monde is open from 3 p.m. with a snack offered by the F5C after the Young Audience film.
Three prizes awarded at the end of the Festival: the F5C Jury Prize and the High School Students' Jury Prize for the nine films in competition, and the Audience Award for the 40 films shown in all the cinemas.
Three special features: ‘Music in Cinema’ + ‘At the Heart of Ukraine’ + seven special screenings of ‘Hispanic American Cinema’.
