A pass as formidable as it is little-known!
The Col de la Biche or Golet de la Biche (1,325 m) from Champagne-en-Valromey can be reached by a very lightly traveled road, ideal for cyclists seeking peace and quiet, and the least demanding (625 m ascent for an average gradient of 9.5%). It's a 7 km ascent and a beautiful finish with gradients of around 10% from Brénaz to the pass.
The summit offers panoramic views of Mont Blanc and the Alpine peaks.
After the col, a short descent follows to the vallon d'Arvière, with a further kilometer of climbing at 11.3% to reach the Croix de Famban (1250 m), where the real descent to Gigniez begins.
