To reach the Col d'Evosges (759 m) from Saint-Rambert en Bugey, take the D1504 for a good 2 km to Oncieu, then another 4 km to the pass.
A superb 10 km climb up this western slope via the village of Oncieu, nicknamed the "round village" because of its unusual layout around a vast circular central meadow. From undergrowth to switchbacks, the ascent is short but intense, with steep slopes reaching a maximum gradient of 8.8%.
