This is the most accessible route (with an average gradient of over 6%), and offers a number of places to recover between its 10%+ ramps. The last two kilometers, however, offer no respite, with a steep slope and an often windy road. Le Grand-Colombier has to be earned!
At the summit: 360° panoramic views of the Alps, the Belledonne massif, Mont-Blanc, Bugey, the Rhône and 3 Alpine lakes (Lac du Bourget, Lac d'Annecy and Lac du Léman).
