Meet at 9:30 a.m. in Chézery-Forens with your guide who will accompany you throughout the day. For the comfort of the visits, the group will be divided into two, and the visits will alternate.
Visit to the Abbey Cheese Factory
A guided tour of one of the last four cheese factories producing Bleu de Gex. Learn about the different stages of production and discover how 320 tons of cheese are transformed each year.
Visit to the Ferronne Soap Factory
Awaken all your senses (sight, touch, smell...) during a sensory visit of the soap factory. Ingredients, manufacturing processes, European cosmetic standards... Soap will hold no secrets for you!
Visit to the Valserine Valley
Discover the Valserine Valley and its heritage by coach.
Lunch at the restaurant "La Couronne" at Col de la Faucille
Local specialties with a view of the Alps.

3:30 p.m.: Guided tour of Voltaire's Castle
It was in Ferney, near Geneva, that Voltaire sought refuge in 1759. He rebuilt his castle, landscaped the park, and did not hesitate to work with his own hands. Becoming the "innkeeper of Europe" by hosting the prominent figures of the time, the Enlightenment philosopher spent his last 20 years in his castle, which is now labeled "Maison des Illustres." In addition to his Treatise on Tolerance, he wrote nearly 6,000 letters there.
