La paria is the name of an ancestral jam made at the Maison de Pays en Bresse Ecomuseum in Saint-Etienne-du-Bois. This jam, made from pears cooked in apple juice, used to be made by neighbors.
It was an opportunity to celebrate, and to forge closer ties between local residents.
Since 1994, the Maison de Pays en Bresse ecomuseum in Saint-Étienne du Bois has been perpetuating the tradition of making Paria. For a weekend, we'll take you back in time to rediscover that little taste of yesteryear.
As every year, the famous Bresse tarts, cream and butter will be baked on site in the old bread oven.
Saturday October 18: Sale of Bressane jams and tarts, refreshments, entertainment...
Sunday October 19: Sale of jam and Bressanne tarts, refreshment bar, music and other entertainment...
