Come along and join in the fun at this orienteering event open to everyone, whether you're from CERN or elsewhere, an athlete or a family, a runner or a walker, a child or an adult!
The Genevoise Cup comprises a dozen races in various forests in the Geneva region, organised in collaboration with other orienteering clubs in Switzerland and neighbouring France. Each race offers five or six different courses:
- Three easy courses (short, medium and long), with markers located exclusively on or near paths and trails. These courses are designed for beginners who are just learning to read a map.
- 3 technical courses (short, medium and long), which have in common that the routes between the control points rarely use paths or trails. A good command of map reading and compass use is necessary to successfully complete these courses.
Registration can be done either on the CERN Orienteering Club website until Thursday 11 September or on site (just show up at the start of the event between 12:30 and 14:30).
A detailed map is provided and compasses are available for loan.
