A sort of garage rock opera, a fusion of everything that moves, drawing in turn on alternative rock, fiery pop-rock and smoky blues.
As is often the case, the latest sensation of the moment comes to us from London, in the backwaters of the underground, but this time in the open air, as the founders of Rum Buffalo are basically street musicians who came together around magnetic singer and guitarist Jake Stevens, to quickly become the new darling of British indie music. Mindful of the melodic and rhythmic spirit of their compositions, and above all of the theatricality of their show, imagined as a wild cabaret, this sextet, which has no intention of taking itself too seriously, develops a vaudevillian madness that is the stuff of performance.
