Strategically positioned in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, the Ain is an ideal destination for business tourism. This sector generates some 860 million euros in spending. Complementary to leisure tourism, it represents a development lever for local players.
Faced with new corporate expectations (tighter budgets, hybridization of events, increased competition), Aintourisme is committed to structuring and promoting the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, Exhibitions) offer through targeted actions.

The Ain, a destination that fits the bill!


The Livre Blanc du Tourisme de l’Ain has set Aintourisme the objective of developing a business tourism offer for the Ain destination and acting as a facilitator for MICE events in the Ain.

Key actions to boost business tourism:

1.increase the attractiveness of the Ain on the MICE market

  • Raising awareness among decision-makers and event agencies

2. Structure and run the “Ain, Séminaires & Congrès” network

  • Overhaul network and introduce paid membership in 2026
  • Organize at least 2 annual meetings
  • Creation of a VIP club to share promotional costs
  • Recruitment of new members, particularly from the outdoor industry for leisure and incentive activities
  • Launch of a trend barometer

3. Deploy a targeted B2B promotional strategy

  • Large-scale B2B promotion and increased presence at B2B trade shows
  • Creation of catalog or customized packages (seminars, team-building, conferences, etc.)
  • Active prospecting of Ain companies and regional federations
  • Launch of a dedicated LinkedIn page, highlighting our members
  • Promotion of a new website
  • Implementation of a loyalty program

4. Structuring reception hubs for mini-conventions and congresses

  • Develop MICE hubs at key sites: Pays de Gex, Divonne-les-Bains, Ainterexpo and Vonnas, by creating dedicated commercial partnerships.
