First edition of the Grand Colombier Road Climb.
Challenge the slopes of the legendary Grand Colombier climb in a road race.
This event takes place on one of cycling's most famous and feared roads, regularly featured in the Tour de France. Participants will set off from Culoz at the foot of the mountain for a 17.6 km climb with 1,243 m of elevation gain to the summit at 1,501 meters.
With its significant elevation gain and steady ascent, the Grand Colombier Climb is for those who love a sporting challenge, whether they are mountain runners, trail runners, or road cyclists looking to test their endurance on a legendary course.
The route climbs from Culoz to the formidable switchbacks of the Grand Colombier, offering spectacular views of the Rhône River, Lake Bourget, the Alps, the southern Bugey region, and Savoy.
Registration is limited to 1,500 bibs.
Registration closes Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at midnight. No on-site registration will be accepted.
General Information:
- The return shuttle is included in the registration fee.
- Access to the summit for accompanying persons is prohibited from 7:00 AM on Sunday. Parking will be prohibited from the evening before the event. Shuttle transfers can be reserved during registration.
- Access to changing rooms/showers in Culoz is available after the shuttle descent. Small bags can be left at bib number collection (small bags only).
- Three aid stations will be set up at 7 km, 14 km, and at the finish line. Participants are asked to bring their own water bottles/flasks to minimize waste.
