Welcome to this charming family cottage, nestled in the heart of L'Abergement-de-Varey, just a stone's throw from Saint-Jean-le-Vieux. More than just a house, the Gîte des Granges de la Forêt, formerly stables, offers an immersive experience in a warm atmosphere where wood and stone reign supreme, as evidenced by the exposed beams and wooden floors. From the moment you arrive, you'll be captivated by the welcoming living spaces. The kitchen, the true heart of the home with its authentic wooden furniture, opens generously onto a bright living room. This space is the perfect extension for family meals, leading naturally to a cozy lounge with a sofa bed (for two people). Here, the charm is all around the fireplace, perfect for relaxing evenings. With its two bedrooms and flexible living areas equipped with sofa beds, the cottage comfortably accommodates 8 people. Your stay will allow you to discover the treasures of the Bugey region. Just a few minutes away, you can explore the marked trails of the GR59, which wind through the surrounding hills, offering breathtaking views of the Ain Valley. History buffs can explore the charming village of Saint-Jean-le-Vieux, at the gateway to the Revermont region, or discover the ruins and castles of Les Allymes, which dot the local hiking routes. For a more aquatic experience, the nearby Ain River invites you to relax, swim in the summer, or try canoeing or kayaking to discover the landscapes from a different perspective. The grounds of the gîte promise wonderful escapes. Opposite the building, a large wooded area (2000 m²) is accessible via natural steps. It's a bit of a climb, but the effort is well worth it for the wild beauty of the site, a true haven of peace for rejuvenation. A lit area with garden furniture and a barbecue awaits you. Enjoy a game of pétanque in the shade of the trees or relax by the small pond and savor the tranquility of the surroundings. Discover your vacation rental, adjoining main residences: the entrance leads to a fully equipped kitchen, a living room, and a lounge area (with a sofa bed for two) and a fireplace. There is also a shower room with a toilet. Upstairs, you'll find a living room with a sofa bed (for two people) and a bookcase, as well as two bedrooms, each with a queen-size bed (160x200cm), one of which has an en-suite shower room with a toilet. From the living room, a staircase leads to the top floor: a mezzanine with an additional relaxation area. Travel light: beds are made upon arrival, and towels and linens are provided, as are utilities. Cleaning is available as an option. Heating: Ground floor: wood and electric. First floor: heat pump. Pets are welcome for an additional fee. 3 parking spaces and a 5-car parking lot 50 meters away.
