Charter & form

Adopt a progressive and concrete approach with the Ain Tourisme Durable charter

The Ain Tourisme Durable charter has been designed to improve your practices and contribute to a sustainable and responsible destination! It is based on 10 key commitments aimed at sustainably transforming tourism in the Ain: commitments not only linked to the environment but also to the local social and economic fabric.

Moving on from the observation that tourism in the Ain already has the characteristics of sustainable tourism because :

  • Focused on proximity.
  • It makes the most of the local resources of a lively, year-round region.
  • Drawing on nature, landscape diversity and a wealth of activities.
  • Mostly distributed and balanced across the region.
  • Financially accessible.
  • Accepted by local residents.

Has 10 commitments to federate players around a sustainable tourism charter for the Ain:

  1. Get involved in the cultural and social life of the region and make its know-how and infrastructure available to local residents and associations.
  2. Promote your region and the Ain département.
  3. Integrate the local economic fabric and ensure good working conditions for its employees.
  4. Encourage the purchase of local products and promote our know-how.
  5. Contribute to the balanced development of the region and the distribution of tourist flows.
  6. Develop professional practices that respect the environment and biodiversity.
  7. Respect the customer promise, engage in open and transparent dialogue with customers and manage complaints.
  8. Ensure relevance and sobriety in the use of digital tools.
  9. Professionalize our welcome and make our offer accessible to all.
  10. Contribute actively to collective initiatives, dialogue with public and private partners, and develop a spirit of solidarity and cooperation.

The self-assessment form: a pragmatic approach

To sign the charter, simply complete a self-assessment form based on these 10 commitments. Each commitment is accompanied by examples of concrete actions. You will be asked to declare at least two actions implemented or planned per commitment.

This self-assessment enables you to :

  • Identify best practices already in place.
  • Highlight areas for improvement.
  • Gradually structure your approach to sustainable tourism.

The process is based on transparency and sincerity, with a view to continuous progress.

Once the form has been completed, membership will be validated by an Accreditation Committee made up of professionals and representatives from the tourism sector.
